Feeling stressed? Need someone to talk to? Wondering if bankruptcy is right for you?
A visit with one of our Certified Consumer Credit Counselors may be the answer.
*Pre-Filing Credit Counseling Briefing
CCCSSA is approved by the EOUST to provide credit counseling prior to filing for bankruptcy. One of our counselors will sit down with you in a private 90-minute session and review your financial situation (bills and income status). The counselor will provide you with an overview of the bankruptcy process, help you weigh your options, and make an informed decision. A certificate will be issued at the end of the session. Call 210.979.4300 or 800.410.2227 if you would like to initiate the bankruptcy pre-filing counseling process.
*Approved to issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of an Agency's services. These services may be available for free or at a rate based on the debtor student's ability to pay.
*Pre-Discharge Education Session
If you have filed for bankruptcy and are waiting to have your debts discharged, you are eligible to enroll in the class, "Live A Richer Life." The workshop is vital to your financial recovery once the bankruptcy process is complete.
In this 2-hour workshop, you will review budgeting skills, learn about credit and how to use it wisely, learn about credit reports and find out how to rebuild your credit. A certificate will be issued at the end of the workshop.
Position on Bankruptcy
CCCSSA counselors do not answer legal questions about bankruptcy, or advise anyone to file for bankruptcy. This decision is made by each person after consultation with an attorney. CCCSSA counselors provide impartial and accurate information to help the consumer choose the best option for them. The CCCSSA staff does not refer consumers to attorneys or attorney offices.
